Sex Ed during a Global Pandemic

Self-Paced, Exploratory, Interactive!

During the start of the global COVID pandemic, schools, organizations, and caring adults were left without a plan for implementing a robust sex education program for youth. Girls Inc. Denver asked us to help them change that! We designed a critical sex education curriculum for grades 6-8 and 9-12. This project grew out of the need and desire to provide access to a critical and inclusive sex education for youth that is self-paced, exploratory, and interactive. Girls have the opportunity to explore the complexities of gender and sexuality, intimacy and sexual boundaries, how bodies work and are organized, power and privilege in relation to gender and sexuality, options for when it comes to prevention of pregnancy and stis, and pleasure, and radical self-love. As the world continues to be shaken by COVID-19, the shift to remote learning and hybrid formats has offered constraints and creative possibilities.
